Beer Lineup For Seven Year Anniversary Party

Anniversary Week has arrived once again and we are happy to announce we have a beer list ready for you.

On Friday, the party starts out east at 11 a.m.  All beers on tap will be a $1 off and we will have certain beers available in cans (listed below).  Starting at noon, the event venue will open up across the street for an open house.  Appetizers will be available until 5 p.m.  Food will be available for purchase at 5 p.m. Live music starts at 7 p.m. with the band The Plains. There will be ten taps pouring beer and also available cans. Beer will be available to-go once you are done at the party, including Seal Team 6 four packs for only $4.

On Saturday, the party starts out west at 11 a.m. with all draft beers $1 off. During the evening the patio will open and our beer trailer will be out with ten taps pouring the beers listed below, cans will also be available outside. Live music starts at 7 p.m. with the band Reach for the Sky. Look for Seal Team 6 packs for $4 to take home with you.

If you want to get the party started a little bit earlier on Saturday, there will be a pre-party bike ride starting at 9 a.m.  Meet at the west Wichita Brewing Company location and bike ride to our production facility at 727 E. Osie. There will be an open house where you can tour our facility where the magic happens, and there will also be beer available for sampling. If you aren’t that big into bike riding you can still swing by, the bike ride should take approximately 45 minutes each way. We will bike ride back to the west side around noon.

There are five beers that we put on tap just for this special occasion. Those beers include:

• Grapefruit V6 – Double the grapefruit compared to the beer we released last year.
• Berry Berlemoner – Same great sour wheat but we went ahead and added some raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries.
• Barrel Aged Seal Team 6 – Aged in a George Dickel Rye Whiskey Barrel
• Scicilia II – Sour red ale fermented in wine barrels with Roeselare Blend.  Roeselare is a mixed culture blend of wild yeast, bacteria and ale yeast.
• Catherine III 2018 – Aged in whiskey barrels and then we added vanilla and coffee beans.

Also available for purchase will be year seven anniversary shirts for $20.

Can Releases Coming in October

Saison in the Abyss – 6.7% ABV

A collaboration with Hell Bomb Tattoo. A French Saison that is anything but traditional. Pale in color, refreshingly tart in flavor, thirst quenchingly dry, and satisfyingly estery and hoppy.

Mass Hysteria Rye – 8% ABV

This deep red colored rye ale is hopped with Columbus and Cascade. A large portion of the malt bill is rye malt. This gives the beer a hint of spiciness with a creamy mouthfeel. The process of dry hopping this ale brings out the juicy citrus aromatics. Thus creating “Mass Hysteria” with every sip.

Catherine the III Vertical Release – 2016, 2017, 2018 – 9.5% ABV

This will be released in six packs with two cans from each year. The Catherine III is an imperial stout aged in wood with notes of chocolate, roasted coffee, and distant smoke. The 2016 was aged in our oak foeder that was treated with Leopold Bros small batch whiskey. The 2017 was aged in George Dickel Rye Whiskey barrels and the 2018 was aged in George Dickel Rye whiskey barrels with coffee and Madagascar vanilla beans.

Events in October

3^rd Annual Hutch Brewfest – Hutchinson, Kansas – Saturday October 13^th 11:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.

Held in downtown Hutchinson this beer fest will include 12 different craft breweries, live music, and a mix of different types of food to enjoy. Midwest Beerfest – Mulvane, Kansas – Saturday, October 13^th 1:00 P.M. – 4 P.M.

This year’s Midwest Beerfest will be held at the Kansas Star Casino. We will be pouring beer along with several other breweries in Kansas and the surrounding areas, which will bring 300 beers to the table for you to enjoy. During the fest there will also be a silent auction and a wing fest. You can purchase a VIP ticket for $65 which grants you early entrance at 12:30 P.M. The general admission tickets are $45. Visit

Botanical Brewfest – Overland Park, KS – Saturday, October 13th 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.

Come out and enjoy the botanical gardens in Overland Park, KS with food, music, games, and fun. We will be pouring beer along with over thirty five other breweries. This event benefits the Arboretum. Prairieland Beer and Music Festival – Saturday, October 20^th 3:00 P.M. – 12:00 A.M.

This event is sure to impress with nearly 40 breweries from across the state of Kansas. Music will start when the beer starts pouring with Bad Mother Hubbard and Mensaje Norteno. After the beer sampling the party continues with the Marcus Lewis Big Band, and the night will close out with a performance by the Budos Band. Ticket prices are as follows:

• Beer Only Tickets – $45 – Enjoy beer from 3 P.M. – 6 P.M.
• Music Only Tickets – $25 – Doors open at 6:30 P.M. for Marcus Lewis Big Band and the Budos Band
• Full Festival Pass – $60 – Stay all day!

Brew Ha-Ha 2018 – Topeka, Kansas – Friday, October 26^th 6 P.M. – 9:30 P.M.

Brew Ha – Ha in Topeka, Kansas is hosted by Kansas Big Brother, Big Sister serving Shawnee County. We will be there sampling beer along with fourteen other breweries from the state of Kansas. Not only will there be beer but there will also be wine from a local winery and Wheat State Distillery will also be at the event. All proceeds go to directly to serving more youth in Shawnee County. General admission tickets are $50 and VIP tickets are $100.

Lone Elm Halloween Party – Olathe, Kansas – Saturday, October 27^th 1:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M.

We will be sampling beers some fall inspired beers with eleven other breweries. There will also be a raffle and a costume contest.

Bike Brew Q Pumpkin Smash – Great Bend, Kansas – Saturday, October 27^th 5:00 P.M.

Join us in Great Bend, Kansas at Charlies Place to help raise money for Cystic Fibrosis. Enjoy live music, a tap take over and of course smashing pumpkins to support a great cause! We will be out there pouring beer and we hope you will be too! There is no cover charge for this event.

This Saturday, December 15^th Wichita State Shockers will be playing Southern Miss at Intrust Bank Arena. We have three chances for you to win sweet Wichita State swag at three different downtown locations.

We are excited to announce that our marathon website is up and ready to go for runners to sign up! The marathon this year will fall on Sunday, March 10. The 2019 marathon party will not only take place at our east location but we will also be hosting people at our new event venue which is located in front of the east brewpub, at 6160 E. Central. The marathon benefits The Kansas Food Bank; last year we donated $17,000 for the cause to fight hunger.

If you are interested in signing up for our marathon, visit our marathon page here. There are two options for signing up, the individual marathon or the relay marathon which consists of teams up to six. We will also be looking for around 100 volunteers to help this event run as smooth as possible.

We are also excited to announce that we will be opening our production facility to the public on December 29th from 12 P.M. to 5 P.M. for beers and tours. Along with beers on tap you will be able to purchase cans of beer to go. We will also be selling merchandise, including some bargains that are not available at the brewpubs. Our production facility is located at 727 E. Osie.

If you want to get to know our production team that makes all the beer magic happen, below are some fun facts about our staff.

For our December 24th #wbcEPICxmas we will be giving away two gifts. The first gift is a Wichita Brewing Company gift basket which will be filled with cool WBC swag. The second gift will be a team to be entered into the marathon, free of charge. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Wichita Brewing Company Team!

Happy New Year's Eve Eve!  Welcome to our freshly updated website.  Feel free to click around and tell us your thoughts of the new layout.  We would like to thank Nathan and his team at Baseline Creative for being great to work with and putting this together for us.  We plan on running a lot of information through our website, including all our events, beers we package, and everything WBC.  Our hope is that you know everything that we know, well maybe not everything...

WBC hopes that everyone had a Merry Christmas and is planning a safe and happy New Year.  Like last year we will have just what the doctor ordered available on New Year's Day, BREAKFAST PIZZA AND MEGA BLOODY MARY'S!  A nice addition to this year's lineup will include WBC mimosas.

The breakfast pizzas are the Flat Plains Pizza, the Dirty South Pizza, and the Springfield Pizza.

 

The first pizza is the Flat Plains Pizza, which is a Kansas omelette pizza.  Capicola, breakfast sausage, scrambled eggs, cheddar sauce, steak, onions, red pepper, and mozzarella all on a thin crust with a base of our WBC red sauce.  Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

 

The second pizza is the Dirty South Pizza which is a breakfast bowl pizza.  Get ready for this one.  It is sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, hash browns, mozzarella, cheddar sauce, and sweet pepper bacon all served on our thin crust.  A personal favorite of the WBC brewers.  It will be your new favorite as well.

 

The third pizza is the Springfield which is a traditional breakfast pizza.  Cheddar sauce, scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, mozzarella, and sweet pepper bacon are perfectly positioned on our thin crust.  Never thought I would say this, but I can't wait for New Year's Day.

 

Now for a little hair of the dog.  We will have two awesome specials to help get you on track for 2017.  The first one is the mega bloody mary.  This is a bloody mary and a snack in one.  It is our traditional WBC bloody mary served in a pint glass but then garnished with everything.  The garnish includes this wonderful assortment; a hot link, pickle, jumbo shrimp, summer sausage, celery,  cheese cubes, and olives.  To make the bloody mary even better (how do you do that?) you sell them for $4.00 for the bloody mary and $4.00 for the garnish!  That's a $8 dollar meal and a drink in one.

 

The newest addition to the New Year's Day line up is the WBC Mimosa.  A classic drink that includes equal parts champagne and orange juice.  Enjoy this kick starter for only $5.

 

Last but certainly not least is our draft lineup.  Sunday is always $3 pints at WBC.  We have 19 tap handles at both locations.  Two of those taps are our own root beer and cream soda.  That leaves 17 taps for the good stuff, WBC hand crafted beer.  Here is our current lineup:
